Pros
- è possibile impostare un tempo di refresh della pagina;
- è possibile impostare il numero di entries e commenti visualizzati per pagina;
- è possibile scegliere se visualizzare o meno le notifiche "friend-of-friend";
- è possibile selezionare una determinata entry per renderla sempre visibile nella Inbox;
- è possibile gestire i DM e post in feeds diversi dall’ Home Feed (confermato dall’analisi precedente);
Cons
- il link "more", che porta ad un post avanzato (DM o altro feed), necessita di scroll orizzontale (almeno nel display dell E65);
- a volte non è possibile cliccare sul link che mostra i like (almeno nel display dell E65);
Nice to have
- gestione di Follow, Unfollow e Block; UPDATE: Follow e Unfollow si gestiscono cliccando su [nomeutente] -> [profile] -> [edit]; il Block non è gestito dalle API di Friendfeed;
- la possibilità di nascondere un post; UPDATE: per nascondere un post cliccare su [>>>] -> [hide]
Insomma, la mia impressione su f2p è molto positiva, lo ritengo un sostituto più che valido a fftogo.
Alla prox
f2p, a closer look
The initial interest about f2p is changed to something more, so I decided to have a closer look at the project to notify my opinions and tips to the author of the tool, Hiroshi Nakamura.
After some days of exclusive use (fftogo off), here’s what I found.
Pros
- it’s possible to setup a refresh timeout;
- it’s possible to choose how many entries and comments will be shown page by page;
- it’s possible to disable friend-of-friend notifications;
- it’s possible to "pin" an entry to keep it shown in the Inbox;
- it’s possible to manage DM and post to other recipients (confirmed from previous test);
Cons
- the link "more", that allows to do an advanced post (DM or other feeds), requires an horizontal scroll (E65 screen here);
- sometime isn’t possible to click on the link that show likes (E65 screen here);
Nice to have
- a way to Follow, Unfollow and Block users; UPDATE: to Follow/Unfollow users you have to click [username] -> [profile] -> [edit]; Block aren’t handled by Friendfeed’s API;
- a way to hide a post; UPDATE: to hide a post click [>>>] -> [hide];
I got very positive impression about f2p, to me it is more than good alternative to fftogo.

First, thank you very much for taking the time to write it up.

f2p tries to do auto-scroll by Javascript now but it should not work for your device. I’ll investigate it. I may put an anchor link instead of JS.

Hmm. [like] link does not work for you both on list (multi-entries) view and single entry view?

[edit]. It should be easier to find… Any UI idea?

And there’s no blocking feature for now. And I don’t think it will be implemented in the near future because there’s no FriendFeed API for that…

‘) should have [hide] link. Do you think we have [hide] link in list view?

Oh I found I misunderstood your comment. The link *"more"* requires an horizontal scroll. We should have [post] button at the top, right?

ok, ready for replies; * "more" placement: agree, [post] at the top; * "Follow/Unfollow" your tip is good, IMHO there’s no need for a UI element for that, just place you tip into the help; * the problem isn’t [like] link, but the number that shows the count of likes. i think that the problem is really related to cursor placement in Nokia browser. i’ll update the post in my blog :)
